For those of you interested, I just finished the breakdown of the midterm:
30 Identification Questions (all numbered)
5 Multiple Choice
1 Essay
For the Essay, you will be given 3 options and will choose one. Essays should be at least 3 paragraphs long.
There will also be five extra credit questions.
There will be no handouts given for the exam. It will all be done via powerpoint.
You will be given the entire class time to take the exam if you need it.
We will proceed through all the questions numerically, pausing at each for a little over a minute before stopping at the essays.
If you need to see a slide again, raise your hand and say the number of the question you need to see again.
Be sure to bring a Blue book with you to class as I do not have any to give out.
I also advise that you print multiple writing instruments with you.
As always, there will be no electronic device use allowed during test time.
If you have any questions, email me or leave a comment here on the blog.

ReplyDeleteThe exam will be based on the study guides.
DeleteAll questions on the exam are taken from topics on the study guides.
DeleteAs for images that will come up on the powerpoint during midterm--will the images only be the ones that were up on the study guides? Or will it be for every object on the study guide?
ReplyDeleteThey can be of any of the items on the study guide.
DeleteMany of them are pictured on the study guide, but there are several that are mentioned, but not specifically pictured.
For the identification questions. Will you be showing us pictures of the artwork? Because up until this point of been studying text. I guess a better question is what do you mean by identification questions?
ReplyDeleteIdentification Questions will be prompted by images of artwork. Since much of the artwork is visual, most of the questions on the exam will be based on visual cues.
DeleteProfessor, how important is spelling for this exam?
ReplyDeleteSpelling will count for partial credit.
ReplyDeleteI the answer is correct, it will not be marked completely wrong if it is spelled wrong.
